1. Scope
The MIPR 517 Publishing License applies to all publications produced by MIPR and its affiliated entities, including but not limited to working papers, reports, books, e-papers, e-books, web applications, videos, audio, photos, posters, print papers, and print books. This includes the MIPR MT, A1, 800, IAQ, COF, CD, PC, and EDU series.
2. Access Tiers
The MIPR 517 Publishing License includes three main access tiers, each with series-specific sub-tiers:
Tier A: Commercial License
- A1: MIPR MT Series - Paid access only, with strict DRM and watermarking.
- A2: MIPR A1 Series - Mix of paid and licensed access, with volume discounts available.
- A3: MIPR 800 Series - Paid access for full content, with freely shareable summaries.
- A4: MIPR IAQ Series - Mix of paid access for full reports and licensed access for guides.
- A5: MIPR COF Series - Paid access only, with additional fees for training and certification.
- A6: MIPR CD Series - Paid per-user licensing, with option for customized editions.
- A7: MIPR PC Series - Mix of paid access for full protocols and licensed access for quick-reference guides.
- A8: MIPR EDU Series - Paid access for complete course materials, with volume licensing for institutions.
Tier B: Open Access License
- B1: MIPR Funder-Supported Series - Published under CC BY 4.0 license in accordance with funder requirements.
- B2: MIPR Community Resource Series - Published under CC BY-SA 4.0 license to allow remixing and adaptation with attribution.
Tier C: Restricted Access License
- C1: MIPR Early Access Series - Free to view online for a limited time, but no downloads or redistribution.
- C2: MIPR Sensitive Content Series - Access restricted to authenticated users or specific IP ranges, with watermarked downloads.
3. Third-Party Repositories
When MIPR publications are made available through third-party repositories or platforms, they must carry the same access tier and licensing terms as specified on MIPR's own website. The specific sub-tier (e.g., A1, B2, etc.) should be clearly indicated wherever the publication appears.
4. Exceptions and Amendments
Any exceptions to or amendments of the standard MIPR 517 Publishing License terms for a specific publication must be approved in writing by MIPR's publications committee. Requests for exceptions should include a justification for the proposed alternative licensing approach.
5. Enforcement
MIPR reserves the right to enforce the terms of the MIPR 517 Publishing License to the fullest extent permitted by law. Violations may result in penalties including but not limited to warning letters, fines, legal action, and suspension of access, depending on the nature and severity of the infringement.
